7 Best Ways to Run Pony and Illustrious Models Online in 2026
Seven ways to run Pony, Illustrious and NoobAI checkpoints without a graphics card, from Mage and Civitai to PixAI, SeaArt, Tensor.Art and rented GPUs on ThinkDiffusion and RunPod, with prices, LoRA limits and content rules.
Mage is the best way to run Pony and Illustrious online. Its catalog of Pony and Illustrious checkpoints runs unlimited from $10 a month with negative prompts and LoRAs, and Pro Plus imports any checkpoint or LoRA from Civitai or Hugging Face.
Civitai has the widest choice of community checkpoints and runs Pony, Illustrious and NoobAI in its on-site generator, but every image costs Buzz, and mature content now lives on civitai.red.
PixAI is the pick for stacking LoRAs, with up to 15 per image on its top plan, and SeaArt has the cheapest paid plan here at $5.99 a month.
Tensor.Art still hosts Illustrious checkpoints, but it's now a safe-for-work platform.
If you want ComfyUI or Automatic1111 with your own files, ThinkDiffusion rents a 16GB GPU from $0.99 an hour, and RunPod rents an RTX 4090 from $0.34 an hour.

1. Mage - Best overall
Mage is a browser-based image and video platform that supports NSFW content, and it treats Pony and Illustrious checkpoints like any other SDXL model.
What works: Mage's Pony and Illustrious checkpoints run unlimited from the $10 Basic plan, like every SDXL checkpoint, and they take negative prompts, textual inversions and LoRAs. Basic runs one LoRA per image unlimited, Pro ($30) runs two and Pro Plus ($60) runs five. Pro also adds unlimited ControlNet, a hi-res pass and 2K upscaling. Alongside community checkpoints, Mage hosts its own Illustrious-based models, such as the Mage-exclusive EspressoIllustrious V3. Pro Plus imports your own checkpoints, LoRAs, textual inversions and LyCORIS files from a Civitai or Hugging Face link or from Google Drive. Images are private by default, and you can use them commercially on every plan, though imported models carry their author's license.
What doesn't: Mage doesn't list NoobAI checkpoints, and it doesn't train LoRAs, so you'll train elsewhere and import. Its Characters feature for consistent faces doesn't work on Pony or Illustrious checkpoints.
Best for: Anyone who wants to generate a lot with Pony and Illustrious at a flat monthly price.
2. Civitai - Best for the widest checkpoint choice
Civitai hosts most of the community Pony, Illustrious and NoobAI checkpoints and LoRAs people use, and its on-site generator runs them.
What works: The generator runs all three families, including NoobAI's v-prediction checkpoints, which many SDXL tools don't handle. You can stack community LoRAs and train your own on the same site. Memberships cost $10 a month (Bronze) for 10,000 Buzz, $25 (Silver) for 25,000 and $50 (Gold) for 50,000, and higher tiers generate more images per job.
What doesn't: Every image costs Buzz, so heavy use is hard to budget. Since April 2026, civitai.com is safe-for-work only, and mature content and generation live on civitai.red, where you buy Buzz with crypto, and it doesn't convert to the Buzz you buy with a card.
Best for: Users who want to try many community checkpoints and LoRAs before settling on one.
3. PixAI - Best for stacking LoRAs
PixAI is an anime image platform that hosts community Illustrious, Pony and NoobAI checkpoints alongside its own Tsubaki models.
What works: You can run checkpoints like Illustrious XL 1.0 and WAI-illustrious, and members stack up to 5 LoRAs per image on Starter ($10 a month), 10 on Plus ($30) and 15 on Premium ($50). Turbo Mode is unlimited for members, and free users get daily credits. NSFW output unlocks once you confirm you're over 18.
What doesn't: Sensitive content made with realistic models isn't allowed, so its NSFW work is anime only. PixAI's own pages list different prices for annual plans, so check at checkout.
Best for: Anime artists who mix many style and character LoRAs on one image.
4. SeaArt - Best for the lowest monthly price
SeaArt is an image platform with a large library of community checkpoints, including Pony Diffusion V6 XL and many Illustrious and NoobAI models.
What works: Free users get 130 stamina a day, enough for about 21 images, and the Beginner plan costs $5.99 a month ($4.79 billed yearly). Paid plans include unlimited "Free Creation" on most models, and a standard image costs 6 credits otherwise. Its ComfyUI workflows take up to 10 LoRAs, and its terms don't stop you from using your images commercially.
What doesn't: Base-model labels on community listings aren't always accurate, so a checkpoint marked Pony may be an Illustrious merge. Illustrious 3.5 is excluded from unlimited generation, and private creation needs a paid plan.
Best for: Budget users who want unlimited generation on community checkpoints.
5. Tensor.Art - Best for safe-for-work Illustrious
Tensor.Art is a model-hosting site with an online generator, and it runs popular Illustrious checkpoints like WAI-illustrious and Illustrious XL v3.0.
What works: You can run Illustrious checkpoints and LoRAs, along with Pony LoRAs, from a model's page, and free users get daily credits.
What doesn't: Tensor.Art's content policy, updated in December 2025, moved it toward a fully safe-for-work platform, so explicit images and nudity aren't permitted, and celebrity models are banned. Its pricing page wasn't available when we checked.
Best for: Artists who want Illustrious checkpoints for safe-for-work anime art.
6. ThinkDiffusion - Best for ComfyUI or A1111 in a browser
ThinkDiffusion rents a cloud machine running ComfyUI, Automatic1111, Fooocus or Kohya, so you get the same tools you'd use locally without a graphics card.
What works: You can upload any checkpoint or LoRA, including straight from a Civitai URL, so any Pony, Illustrious or NoobAI model works, along with every extension and setting. A 16GB machine costs $0.99 an hour and a 24GB machine $1.75, and the TD-Pro plan ($29.99 a month, or $19.99 billed yearly) lowers those rates and adds a $10 monthly credit and 200GB of storage.
What doesn't: You pay for every hour the machine runs, so long sessions add up, and you'll need to know your way around ComfyUI or A1111. On the free Hobby tier, files are deleted after 48 hours of inactivity.
Best for: Experienced users who want their own workflows and files in the cloud.
7. RunPod - Best for the cheapest raw GPU
RunPod rents GPUs by the hour, and you can run ComfyUI or Forge on them with any checkpoint you download.
What works: An RTX 4090 costs from $0.34 an hour on its Community Cloud and an RTX 5090 from $0.69, and network storage costs from $0.07 per GB a month. You control everything, from the UI to the models and extensions.
What doesn't: You set up the software yourself, and RunPod's terms list pornography and graphic adult content as unauthorized, with violations leading to a permanent ban.
Best for: Technical users who want the most GPU for the money for safe-for-work generation.
Pony vs Illustrious: what's the difference?
Both are SDXL fine-tunes prompted with comma-separated tags. Pony Diffusion V6 XL, from PurpleSmartAI, uses quality tags like score_9, score_8_up and score_7_up at the start of a prompt, and it covers anime, cartoon and furry styles. Illustrious XL, from Onoma AI, is trained on Danbooru-style tags and is the base for many of today's most popular anime checkpoints, and Illustrious XL 2.0 is released under an open license, while version 3.x runs on Illustrious's own site. NoobAI-XL is fine-tuned from an early Illustrious release, and its v-prediction versions need settings most SDXL tools don't use by default. Because all three are SDXL-based, many SDXL LoRAs load on them, though results vary. Pony V7 is a different model built on AuraFlow, so V6 LoRAs don't work with it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best way to run Pony models online?
Mage, for most people. Its docs say Pony and Illustrious checkpoints run unlimited from $10 a month, with negative prompts and LoRAs, and Pro Plus imports your own checkpoints. Civitai has the widest choice of community Pony checkpoints but charges Buzz per image.
Can I use my own Pony or Illustrious LoRAs online?
Yes. Mage's Pro Plus plan imports LoRAs and checkpoints from Civitai, Hugging Face or Google Drive, and ThinkDiffusion and RunPod let you upload any file to your own machine.
Do Pony LoRAs work on Illustrious?
Sometimes. Both are SDXL-based, so a Pony LoRA will usually load on an Illustrious checkpoint, but results vary, and LoRAs trained on the same family work best.
What is NoobAI?
NoobAI-XL is an anime checkpoint fine-tuned from an early Illustrious release on Danbooru and e621 images. Its v-prediction versions need specific sampler settings, and Civitai's generator runs them.
